So, it's official ... I'm now unemployed.
The day wasn't too bad, the Managing Director came over and took me to lunch at a very nice Italian restaurant, (I had crepes porcini with a caesar salad which was absolutely delicious, plus a couple of glasses of wine). When he left he gave me the biggest bear hug ever, right in front of my boss, which was lovely of him but left my boss seething with resentment. I think he hoped the MD would be as glad to see the back of me as he was, take his side as it were. And he was really pissed off to not be invited to lunch. As soon as the MD left he told me to get out, even though I still had 2 hours to go. Not the nicest end to the day (or my time with the company), I felt a bit shaken by it to be honest, but kept my dignity, bit my tongue and just left, grateful to be finally getting out of a bad situation.
I still can't believe he actually thought he would be invited to lunch! Not after everything that's happened. It would be the equivalent of Hitler going to Ann Franks' birthday party.
Needless to say, I was a little bit riled. It took a giant chocolate chip cookie and firing off a number of lengthy, emo text messages to my friends before I felt I'd sufficiently offloaded. One of them suggested I get Twitter and use it as a means of venting my spleen on a world-wide scale (she doesn't know I have a blog).
And I have to admit it, I'm increasingly tempted to Twitter ... damn, that bugs me. I've successfully managed to resist MySpace and Facebook all these years, but I can feel my resolve starting to wain with Twitter for some reason. Maybe because it's like the mini-me of blogs. Maybe I'm just THAT bored. My main problem is not being able to decide whether it's cool or not. I know some seriously cool people who use it, but I also know some seriously cool people who totally look down their noses at it. And I can't seem to form any definite opinion.
If I Twitter, does it make me a twit? Or a twitterer? Hmm ... think I'll have to give it some more thought.
Anyway, I'll leave you with this humorous clip, which works rather well with this post (or at least I think so), so check it out and enjoy ...
Ps: Trinity ... as suggested, I got Google Chat, so let me have your details and you too can experience the full-on GI Kate chat experience ... o.O
