Ansel Adams & Annie Leibovitz Have Nothing To Fear Here ...

Well I found the dl cable for my camera ... turns out there's a reason why it was stuffed in the back of the draw ... it doesn't work. Tsk!

So I've had to use my phone-cam, which is totally rubbish (as you'll see), the quality is a load of pants and it won't let me alter the brightness or zoom size ... I effin' hate technology!

But I promised I'd post some pics of the super-dooper prizes Diane and Dominica sent to me and I'm not one to go back on my promises ... unless it involves not eating somebody else's chocolate (sorry Mum ... you shouldn't have left it lying around like that ... in the fridge ... tucked behind the eggs ... and that big container of homemade soup)

First though, just for my lovely US BFF Lopez, here's a pic of my awesome handiwork from yesterday, yes it's the notorious curtain pole. Doesn't it look spiffing? (btw: the camera is at an angle, that's not how I put it up ... honest)

Here's my cat, Lily, giving me a typically superior and snooty look ...

And now some shots of the said awesome prizes, starting with the message on the postcard Dominica sent with her parcel to me (doesn't she have beautiful handwriting? you can tell she's artistic) ...

Dominica's gifts came wrapped up in the sweetest little parcel of green tissue paper with a pretty orange ribbon and stick-on flower, it was so lovely I saved it. You can't see them very well from this crappy pic, but that's two little brooches in the middle, which I absolutely adore ...

Here's the rest of the prize, super-lickalicious lollipops, Hello Kitty (which I'm SUCH a big fan of, I have t-shirts and underwear with it on) stick-on tattoos, a chocolate face mask and a cute little cut-out of a gnome! (lol I love stuff like that) and the trendy postcard Dominica sent me ...

And now the parcel from Diane, here's the message in the little accompanying card that she sent me, she also has lovely, curly writing which I think shows her warm, fun-loving character ...

Some tights in lovely summery colours, the footless blue and yellow ones will look fab with my denim mini skirts, plus the pretty little card from Diane ...

Slippers and foxy leopard print pashmina that makes me want to go "Purrrrr" ... my mum has her eye on that pashmina ... I shall have to hide it in a cunning place (I think that's a finger or thumb in the bottom left corner ... see, that's why I hate taking pics, I'm hopeless) ...

I can't wait for summer so that I can wear this groovy little vintage dress! (sorry, didn't realise my cargo's had got into the shot until it was too late and was too frustrated with my phone-cam to take another one) ...

Here's the uber-silky, uber-sexy vintage Victoria's Secret's nightie ... this was my absolute fave item of them all, I just love beautiful lingerie and I cherish the thought that some guy's gonna get a lot of pleasure from this one day :P

I can't begin to tell you how excited I was when I got my parcels and I must confess that there was more than a little childish squeaking going on as I opened them, so thank you again to my two blog-chums and style Goddesses, Diane and Dominica for all the cool stuff and the smiles that went with them :) xx

Your treats are lovely! I love the Bud dress!! That is great!

You did a great job with the curtain rod...and the color you chose is superb! I am into green earthy tones!

Also, love the cat...and are those the cd's in the background that are alphabetized??

I love that you posted pics!!!

Lopez ... thanks! :) The bud dress is WAY cool and I can't wait to wear it, my friends are going to be so jealous! :P I'm really into greens and natural colours atm too, I'm now hunting for 3 pics I can use in a triptych frame I've got for my bedroom, and it's proving to be ridiculously difficult! :(

The cat is lovely ... but a total bitch. And those cd's haven't been alphabetised ... yet! (there's always tonight's episode of insomnia to look forward to)

Glad you like the pics :)

Goodness, can't tell if the urge to have a beer or to make children is stronger right now...

Nice curtains job.

:) Hey Eric ... tough call! ;)

And thanks ... I'm ridiculously proud of myself lol

You might consider putting side rails up on your step ladder.
I'm really glad you like the stuff. The slippers are the best for laying around, they're down filled. I wouldn't try doing any home improvement projects in them though. xo

Girl Interrupted said...

Diane ... my plan is to just not try to do ANY home improvements if I can possibly avoid it xx

I almost forgot, like an idiot, to ooooh & ahhhhh over the stuff you got from Dominica. God, I love those glass beads (I clicked on the image to enlarge). Also, I think Dominica's writing is way prettier than my scribble.

They're really, really pretty, such a clever idea!

I think you both show your artistic streaks in your handwriting :)

Very pretty lingerie.

As for the term lickalicious, I'm going to write that on my forehead and see what kind of comments I get today.

Girl Interrupted said...

Thank you, Dr Z

And that would be a good experiment!

*lick*

Oooh! It was like Christmas over at your home, wasn't it? How fun! :-)

I adore the lingerie. That's gorgeous!!

And you are absolutely right about your cat. She couldn't give you a more superior and snooty look if she tried. I'm not sure I trust her. Do you? Hmm....

And I must say GREAT job with the curtain! It was worth the effort. It looks lovely! YAY for DIY success!!!! :-)

Girl Interrupted said...

Cora ... No, I do NOT trust her! I think she tolerates me ... barely ... and would smother me in my sleep in the blink of an eye.

And thank you :) I'm really pleased with the curtain pole :P

You did a great job on the pole! (Huhuhuhuh.) And your cat should be in commercials. She is perfect for a cat food commercial where she is served the other brand and does not care for it. They might have to get a different cat to look like she's enjoying the advertised brand though.

And the less I say about the garments, the less I will get myself in trouble ;)

Girl Interrupted said...

words ... thank you (and stop laughing at my being DIY-challenged!)

My cat certainly thinks she is perfect ... snooty cow! If she were to make ads she'd probably demand her own dressing room and act like a total diva.

Why do you guys keep talking about getting into trouble??? Is there some kind of blog-police force I don't know about, that swoops on anyone who makes a slightly ribald comment???

The curtain rail isn't that wonky...reminds me of the time I spent hours fixing a rail to some old plasterboard that kept crumbling. A mate came round and we had a laugh about my pitiful DIY skills. Later that evening it fell on his head.

Careful your mum doesn't steal the pashmina in revenge for the chocolate.

Girl Interrupted said...

Mo ... serves him right for laughing at you!

I might try to train my curtain pole to do that to unwelcome visitors ...

That's my worry ... I need to hide it really well!

Cats are a riot! I just remembered that one of my friend's cats pissed on her boyfriend when he was sleeping.
And I have another friend who has to race her cat to the mail every day before he sprays on it.

Prunella Jones said...

What a cute clothes! I bet you'll look adorable in those. You've got a nice pussy too.

Prunella Jones said...

Pussy cat is what I meant of course!

Wait a minute...you're not IN that lingirie in those pictures. Obviously you have made a horrible mistake.

Girl Interrupted said...

lol Diane ... they are a riot ... and totally evil! But I still love cats.

Haha ... thanks for noticing, Pru ;)

JP ... OMG! You're right! What was I thinking? It will never happen again.

So glad you liked the present ! I like to wrap things up nicely and next time I'll use my Snowhite and her 7 gnomes paper...
I have a V. Secret dress too ..I would even wear it as a tunique/top over some skinny trousers and a cashmere top on that ....sounds good, no ?
My pashmina is purple and Diane knows for sure that's one of my fav colours. Will do a post on the present pretty soon myself...

All the notes about my handwriting made me smile...lots of people tell me I have a nice handwriting but that's because they see me write ....with my LEFT hand...I write upside down, can't explain why but I just ended up writing this way through the years...
Last week though, a little boy said out loud in my shop ; you write SO UGLY !!!
First time in 39 years that this happened ! But it made me smile ...
I gave him the 'EEUUUUUHM' sound ; wrong answer !
No sweeties for you !! hahaha

You did a great job on that pole !
Not only are you a lickalicious girl but you sure have some girl power too !!

PS the lollipops are the healthy kind ...much healthier than a Dr Zibbs cone ...:-O

Dominica said...

Oh and almost forget !! LOVE Lily the cat ...what lovely kids they would have (Lily & Jingle) Grey with some tigery spots ....deal ?

Girl Interrupted said...

Dominica ... they would be gorgeous kittens! But I'd fear for poor Jingle's life ... Miss Lily Thang is an A grade bitch lol She's not very friendly :P

diane said...

"I'd better stop before I get into trouble":
This means they're starting to get a woodie and don't want the wife to know.
You're welcome :)

Girl Interrupted said...

lol Diane ... words is single :P

Lily looks really jealous. I think she wants the Bud Light dress.

Girl Interrupted said...

Greta ... probably! She'll try to shed all over it just to ruin it and p*ss me off

Wow! You hit the motherlode! I'd ask to borrow that lovely champagne-colored nightie but I'd get one arm in it and give up. lol!

Girl Interrupted said...

J.J ... I really did! I'm so lucky! :P And I've made a couple of awesome blog-chums in the process, which is even cooler :)

I can't wait for you to wear it either and then I fully expect to see PICS!!!

Vic said...

Gorgeous stuff!! I want the pashmina - I may have to fight your mom for it. :)

Also the slinky stuff.

Girl Interrupted said...

P Star ... Will do ;)

Vic ... she probably would make you fight for it, she wants that pashmina pretty bad, and she's small but evil ... I mean, fiesty ...

Mr. Condescending said...

Girl Interrupted said...

Mr Condescending ... it's a she ... and would you like her? I'm sure I could work some kind of deal out with Fed-Ex. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
